Softball Recap: Covina Colts vs. Garey Vikings

Covina won the last time they faced Garey and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Covina Colts walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Garey Vikings. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

Lexi Sumpter was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sumpter was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sabrina Medrano, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Val Meza, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Covina was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
