Huntley had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Crystal Lake Central Tigers. Surprisingly, this marked the Red Raiders' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Huntley easily took the first set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-19.

Izzy Whitehouse paced Huntley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Whitehouse got some help from Emily Ernst and her eight assists. Rachael Hein controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Crystal Lake Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Huntley is set to square off against their familiar foe Dundee-Crown at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crystal Lake Central will face off against rival Hampshire at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
