Basketball Recap: Crossover Prep Comes Up Short

Crossover Prep has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-68 heartbreaker at the hands of the KIPP Tulsa University Prep Bulldogs. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2024.

KIPP Tulsa University Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Waylon Jones out in front who shot 56% from the field en route to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Payne, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 15 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Crossover Prep's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for KIPP Tulsa University Prep, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-16.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crossover Prep and Destiny Christian will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. As for KIPP Tulsa University Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Idabel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
