Football Recap: Luis Gonzalez Leads Nordhoff's Defense on Friday

If Carpinteria wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Nordhoff, they should've done a better job of containing Michael Dennie. The Rangers took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-0 win over the Warriors with plenty of help from Dennie, who threw for 504 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 20.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 37 yards. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Nordhoff's defense made their presence known, laying out Isaac Neri three times. Leading the way was Luis Gonzalez with two sacks. Nordhoff got some further help from Elliot Sheets: he picked up a sack and made five total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Nordhoff's record is now 7-2. As for Carpinteria, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
