Bloomfield and Wausa are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Bloomfield Bees' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Wausa Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on February 16th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bloomfield scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 71-46 margin over Creighton. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-17.
Layne Warrior was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Jacob Smith was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Wausa entered their tilt with Crofton with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wausa took down Crofton 44-30 on Friday.
Wausa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Schindler, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Preston Schlote, who scored ten points.
Bloomfield's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Wausa, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.
Friday's contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Bloomfield haven't given up the ball easily this season, having only averaged 9.8 turnovers per game. However, it's not like Wausa struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.1 turnovers per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Bloomfield beat Wausa 49-37 in their previous matchup last Saturday. Does Bloomfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wausa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
