Junior center Davaughn Hueitt knocked down the game-winning shot from the right wing as time expired in the fourth round state tournament contest.

No. 7 Stony Point (Round Rock, Texas) escaped with a 69-68 victory over Brennan (San Antonio, Texas) Friday night in the fourth round of the UIL Class 6A state tournament as junior center Davaughn Hueitt was the unlikely hero, knocking down the game-winning three-pointer from the right wing as time expired.

After sitting out for part of the fourth quarter due to cramping in his calf, junior guard Uzziah Buntyn returned to the game just minutes prior to inbounding the game-winning assist to Hueitt on a cross-court pass with 3.3 seconds remaining.

Huiett was left uncovered on the right wing as he calmly knocked down the three-pointer as the final second expired. The 6-foot-8 center had badly missed an attempt to take the lead on a three-pointer from the top of the key on the previous possession.

The win avenged the Tigers state tournament loss nearly a year ago to the day to this Brennan team 57-43 on March 3 in the same round of the state tournament last season.

After Stony Point appeared to be in control of the contest throughout the majority of the first three quarters, a surge from Brennan late in the third quarter and early in the fourth got them back into the game.

Brennan took its first lead of the second half on a made three-pointer with approximately 6:15 remaining and extended the lead to 61-57 on a Kingston Flemings three-pointer midway through the fourth quarter.

Four-star Villanova signee Josiah Moseley responded with a personal 6-0 run to put Stony Point back ahead 63-61 with just under four minutes remaining in the game. Moseley knocked known a step-back three-pointer before putting back his own miss on the next possession. He then split a pair of free throws to give the Tigers a 63-61 advantage.

After Stony Point took a 66-63 lead with just over two minutes remaining, Brennan clawed back with five consecutive points, including a go-ahead basket from Cameron Walker with 34.6 seconds remaining.

Moseley finished with a game-high 27 points in the win for Stony Point (36-1). The Panthers advance to the UIL Class 6A state quarterfinals where they will take on O'Connor (Helotes) at 2 p.m. local time.
