Softball Recap: River Ridge Finds Home Field Redemption Against Countryside

There's no place like home for River Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past the Countryside Cougars 11-1 on Monday. With that win, the Royal Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Ailynn Hauschen and Paityn Vanfossen did most of the damage at the plate: Hauschen went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Vanfossen went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Vanfossen has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Vozdecky, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

River Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory got River Ridge back to even at 11-11. As for Countryside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.

River Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Countryside, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Seminole at 7:00 p.m.
