While Norwell might've come up empty on Friday, Kayla Watkins wasn't going down without a fight. Watkins wasn't messing around, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was her fifth straight with two or fewer walks.

Coming up, Watkins and Norwell are taking a road trip to take on Central Noble at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Sadly, Watkins' big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Knights' eight-game streak of wins at home. With the streak broken, Watkins and the Knights surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Saturday's match.
