Volleyball Recap: Barberton Magics vs. Highland Hornets

Barberton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They came up short against the Highland Hornets, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 4th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-4, 25-14.

Molly Bittinger paced Barberton's offense, picking up three kills. Bittinger got some help from Katie Rodriguez and her four assists.

Highland was led to victory by Emma Tramonte and Kamryn Heldreth. Tramonte had nine assists and three aces, while Heldreth hit 61.5% for nine kills and three aces and two blocks. Those three aces gave Tramonte a new career-high. Alaina Weingart also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Barberton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Highland, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Barberton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Revere on the 2nd. As for Highland, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Roosevelt on the 2nd.
