Basketball Recap: Genoa Christian Academy's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of four wins, Genoa Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to the East Knox Bulldogs 48-42.

Despite the loss, Genoa Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Reagan Schuck, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Schuck a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Baer, who posted five points in addition to nine boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Genoa Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Genoa Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for East Knox, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Genoa Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bishop Hartley at 6:30 p.m. on January 13, 2025. As for East Knox, they will venture away from home to face off against Danville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. East Knox is facing Danville at the right time seeing as Danville is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
