Basketball Recap: Northeast Dubois Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Northeast Dubois Jeeps came up short against the South Webster Jeeps and fell 64-55. While losing is never fun, Northeast Dubois can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 171st in Indiana, while South Webster is ranked 48th in Ohio).

Eli Roberts continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Webster, going 11 for 18 on his way to 32 points and five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Roberts has scored at least a third of South Webster's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian White, who posted nine points and six assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Northeast Dubois and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for South Webster, the win keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeast Dubois will venture away from home to challenge Vincennes Rivet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northeast Dubois is facing Vincennes Rivet at the right time seeing as Vincennes Rivet is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for South Webster, they will head out to square off against Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Webster is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63 points per game this season.
