It was a good run, but Laconia unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 66-58 to the Mayville Cardinals. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Spartans came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while the Cardinals are ranked 317th).

Laconia's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-3. As for Mayville, their win bumped their record up to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Laconia will venture away from home to take on Winnebago Lutheran Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Laconia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. Mayville has already played their next game (against St. Mary's Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
