Basketball Game Preview: Crestview Rebels vs. Southeast Pirates

The Crestview Rebels will challenge the Southeast Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Saturday, Crestview ended up a good deal behind Lowellville and lost 59-42. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now lost six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Crestview got top-tier performance from Jameson English, who went 9 of 21 en route to 25 points and six steals. Those 25 points gave English a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Neff, who posted six points in addition to ten rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Southeast had to suffer through a 71-36 loss at the hands of Newton Falls. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Crestview's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Southeast, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.

Crestview came up short against Southeast in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 58-49. Thankfully for Crestview, Garrett Sprutte (who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 15 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
