Softball Game Preview: Columbus East Olympians vs. Columbus North Bull Dogs

The Columbus East Olympians will square off against the Columbus North Bull Dogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Columbus North took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbus East, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Columbus East sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Southport. That's two games straight that the Olympians have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Columbus North's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Silver Creek by a score of 9-8.

Miley McClellan was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lily Retz, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Columbus North's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Columbus East, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season.

Columbus East might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Columbus North when the teams last played back in April. Can the Olympians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
