Baseball Recap: Buckley Gets the Win

While Buckley's victory against Ellsworth wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears skirted past the Lancers 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won three in a row.

Aaron Frasier was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Coy Breithaupt was excellent, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Austin Matthews also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Buckley's victory bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Ellsworth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Buckley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lancers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
