Baseball Recap: Cottage Grove Drops Season-High Score on Klamath Union

Cottage Grove had lost five games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-14-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with an 11-8 victory over the Klamath Union Pelicans. The Lions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Nolan Spear, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Anthony Eubanks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Klamath Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

On Klamath Union's side, Pj Safford made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Cottage Grove will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pelicans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
