Softball Recap: West-Oak Starts off Right with Win over Wren

West-Oak gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They put the hurt on the Wren Hurricanes with a sharp 8-2 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Warriors also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Abi Blackwell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Blackwell was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Blackwell, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double. Cassie Stoltzfus was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

West-Oak has already played their next contest, a 14-2 victory against Liberty on the 5th. As for Wren, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-5 win against Fountain Inn on the 5th.
