Softball Recap: Colonel Crawford Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Columbian, Colonel Crawford was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Bucyrus Redmen. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Rylie Hoepf and Olivia Friley did most of the damage at the plate: Hoepf went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while Friley went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Hoepf a new career-high.

Colonel Crawford's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-9. As for Bucyrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Colonel Crawford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redmen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
