Volleyball Game Preview: Deshler Dragons vs. Silver Lake Mustangs

The Deshler Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Silver Lake Mustangs on Tuesday. Deshler has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Silver Lake will come in with six straight victories.

Deshler lost 3-0 to Meridian on Thursday.

Deshler was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.

Deshler's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Claire Sasse, who had 12 digs and one assist, and Jessie Kayser, who had 21 digs, five kills, four aces, and one block. Kayser is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least five every time she's taken the court this season.

Meanwhile, Silver Lake sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Giltner on Thursday.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Silver Lake who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-17, 23-25, 25-23.

Silver Lake's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Deshler, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

Deshler beat Silver Lake 2-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
