Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Phoenix Country Day came out on top in a nail-biter against Horizon Honors, sneaking past 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-1 on April 3rd.

Phoenix Country Day saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kailer Smith, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Smith has posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Phoenix Country Day and bumps their season record up to 13-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games. As for Horizon Honors, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5-1.

Looking ahead, Phoenix Country Day will host ALA - Anthem South at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Horizon Honors, they will head out on the road to challenge Santa Cruz Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
