Baseball Recap: Chattanooga Central Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Chattanooga Central's offense. They fell just short of the Soddy Daisy Trojans by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Pounders haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Bennett Brantingham was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He is becoming a predictor of Chattanooga Central's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't).

Chattanooga Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Soddy Daisy, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Trojans beat Chattanooga Central by a score of 17-1 later that day.
