Softball Recap: Shelby Extends Winning Streak to Four

Shelby entered their tilt with Bellevue on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Redmen 14-1. Considering the Whippets have won 13 contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kendall Bowman, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Natalie Kennard, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Shelby was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Shelby's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Bellevue, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Shelby will face off against Ontario at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellevue, they will challenge Huron at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
