With a playoff win on the line, Danville rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 victory over the Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Ironmen have posted since January 15th.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Danville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Morrison, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 18 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Walker, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards.

Despite the loss, Mount Carmel saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaylen Delaney shot 50% from the field to rack up 15 points and three steals. Delaney is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Jude Lazicki was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Danville and bumps their season record up to 18-7. As for Mount Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-5.

Danville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 48-47 win against Shamokin Area on the 28th. As for Mount Carmel, they have also already played their next contest, a 57-52 victory against Central Columbia on the 28th.
