Softball Recap: Dysart Victorious

While Dysart's victory against Coronado wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Demons had just enough and edged out the Dons 28-27. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-11 on Tuesday.

Juliana Bustraan was a standout: she got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases. Those five runs gave her a new career-high. Mya Sias also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Dysart lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Dysart has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-15 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.5 runs over those games. As for Coronado, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Dysart will challenge Cortez at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Coronado, they will venture away from home to face off against Desert Sunrise at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The Golden Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.93 runs per game on average), something the Dons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
