Preview: Mid-Carolina Rebels vs. Saluda Tigers
Mid-Carolina has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Saluda Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, Mid-Carolina came up short against Abbeville and fell 68-58. Mid-Carolina has struggled against Abbeville recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Mid-Carolina had strong showings from Connor Cromer, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, and Jacob Clark, who scored 17 points. Kaden Myers was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Saluda scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They strolled past Ninety Six with points to spare, taking the game 77-60. The win was some much needed relief for Saluda as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Mid-Carolina's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Saluda, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-15.
Everything went Mid-Carolina's way against Saluda in their previous meeting back in January as Mid-Carolina made off with a 54-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mid-Carolina since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
