Basketball Recap: City of Life Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Life Christian Academy on Monday, City of Life Christian Academy came back down to earth. The City of Life Christian Academy Warriors were dealt a 66-29 defeat at the hands of the St. Cloud Bulldogs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 128th).

Abigail Squires and Mia Garcia certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Squires posted 13 points, while Garcia had nine points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 38 games she's played dating back to last season.

Savannah Kroener was a one-woman wrecking crew for St. Cloud as she almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine boards. That's the most points Kroener has posted since back in November of 2024. Arianna Viera was another key player, going 6 for 14 on her way to 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

City of Life Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for St. Cloud, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

City of Life Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 44-37 defeat against Excel Christian Academy on the 30th. St. Cloud has also already played their next contest, a 45-15 win against Poinciana on the 30th.
