Softball Recap: Oakdale Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The matchup between Oakdale and East Union on Thursday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Mustangs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Lancers 11-10. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Madi Bohannon (Cal Poly), who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jayci Volonte, who went 3-for-5 with three runs.

Oakdale's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-10. As for East Union, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-13.

Oakdale and East Union will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Mustangs see the field they'll take on Bear Creek at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for East Union, their break will end when they face Wood at 4:00 p.m. on the 14th.
