South Rowan has gone 9-1 against Concord recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will look to defend their home field against the Spiders at 5:30 p.m. South Rowan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.

South Rowan fell victim to East Rowan and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 11-0. The loss continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Concord hadn't done well against Cox Mill recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Spiders were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Chargers. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Spiders' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Alexa Hooks made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Peighton Porter was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anamaria Shuman, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.

Concord always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cox Mill only posted an OBP of .143.

Concord is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for South Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
