Basketball Recap: Governor Mifflin Mustangs vs. Central Dauphin Rams
Governor Mifflin lost against Central Dauphin back in January of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Governor Mifflin Mustangs took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Central Dauphin Rams. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Rams are ranked 13th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Dauphin to victory, but perhaps none more so than Wayne Fletcher II, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Fletcher II's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shakur Starling, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.
Governor Mifflin's loss dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Central Dauphin, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.
Looking ahead, Governor Mifflin will challenge Chambersburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Dauphin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
