Soccer Game Preview: Monona Grove vs. Mount Horeb

The Monona Grove Silver Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Mount Horeb Vikings at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Monona Grove will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating Verona, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. The Silver Eagles came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Monona Grove were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Mount Horeb had just enough and edged out Belleville 2-1 on Thursday. Mount Horeb haven't had any issues with Belleville recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Monona Grove's record now sits at 9-2-3. As for Mount Horeb, their record is now 5-6-1.

Monona Grove was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Horeb when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Silver Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
