Baseball Recap: Beaver Local Triumphs

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Beaver Local nor East Liverpool made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Beavers walked away with a 9-4 win over the Potters. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in April.

Mikey Druschel was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Britton Hickman, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Beaver Local always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Beaver Local and bumps their season record up to 6-15. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for East Liverpool, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaver Local will venture away from home to take on Struthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for East Liverpool, they will head out to challenge Cambridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
