Basketball Recap: Wolcott College Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Christian Heritage Academy last Wednesday, Wolcott College Prep came back down to earth. The Wolcott College Prep Wolves took a blow against the Morgan Park Academy Warriors on Wednesday, falling 64-4. The match marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Eliana Henschel and Izzy Rassey, who each put up two points. Margot Kelley held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Morgan Park Academy found their leader in sophomore Tiara Williams, who went 16 for 28 en route to 32 points along with five assists and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of Morgan Park Academy's points. Cecelia Drown was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Wolcott College Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Morgan Park Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.

Wolcott College Prep will head out on the road to challenge British International School of Chicago at 5:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Morgan Park Academy, they will be playing at home against Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
