Softball Recap: Doyline Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Doyline had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers a 19-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Karmadie Bartlett, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Stanley, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.

Bartlett wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Doyline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jonesboro-Hodge didn't got any hits.

Doyline now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Jonesboro-Hodge, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Coming up, Doyline will take on Haynesville at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Jonesboro-Hodge's pitchers better be ready for this one: Castor has averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
