Soccer Game Preview: Smidt Tech vs. Rise Kohyang

Smidt Tech and Rise Kohyang are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but likely not for long. The Smidt Tech Grey Wolves will square off against the Rise Kohyang Tritons at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Rise Kohyang took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Smidt Tech, who comes in off a win.

Smidt Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Everything went their way against Alliance Ted K. Tajima on Thursday as Smidt Tech made off with a 7-1 victory. The score was close at the half, but the Grey Wolves pulled away in the second half with five goals.

Meanwhile, Rise Kohyang's game on Friday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stern. The Tritons haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Smidt Tech is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those seven games. As for Rise Kohyang, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.

Smidt Tech beat Rise Kohyang 2-0 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Smidt Tech since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
