Volleyball Recap: Incarnate Word Academy Red Knights vs. St. Dominic Crusaders        
        
		
             St. Dominic typically has all the answers at home, but  on Wednesday Incarnate Word Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the St. Dominic Crusaders  3-2. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for the Red Knights.
 It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Incarnate Word Academy got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 17-25,  15-10.
 Leading Incarnate Word Academy to victory were  Ally Fuchs and  Audrey Schaeffer.  Fuchs  had 45  digs and two  aces, while  Schaeffer  had 29  digs and two  aces. Fuchs is  on a roll when it comes to  digs, as she's  now  had ten or more in the last 22 games she's  played.
 Incarnate Word Academy  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with ten  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least seven  aces in four consecutive  matchups.
 St. Dominic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Mandy Lawson, who  had 25  digs and two  aces. That's the most  aces  Lawson has posted  in her last ten  contests. The team also got some help courtesy of  Cameron Kohmetscher, who  had ten  digs and four  aces.
 Incarnate Word Academy has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record  this season. As for St. Dominic, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 24-8 record  this season.
 Incarnate Word Academy has already played their next matchup,  a  3-0  loss against Lafayette on the 17th. As for St. Dominic, they also  didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-2  victory against Cor Jesu Academy on the 21st.
