Volleyball Recap: Legacy Takes a Loss

If Legacy was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Somerset Academy Losee on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns fell just short of the Las Vegas Wildcats by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Legacy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-15, 20-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Their offense was headlined by Raelene Miguel and Arial Fox, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Miy'Aja Diggs and her 22 assists. She and Fox didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with seven apiece.

Legacy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Las Vegas, their win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-9.

Legacy has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Sunrise Mountain on the 14th. As for Las Vegas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Somerset Academy Losee on the 14th.
