Softball Recap: Conant Has No Trouble Against Hoffman Estates

Conant got themselves on the board against Hoffman Estates on Thursday, but Hoffman Estates never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 9-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Conant let Charlotte Wolf and Sophia Gomez run wild. Wolf went 2-for-3 with three runs, while Gomez went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs Wolf has posted since back in March. Santina Papucci also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Conant hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hoffman Estates struck out seven times.

Conant is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hoffman Estates, their defeat was their ninth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-22.
