Preview: Fuqua Falcons vs. Tidewater Academy Warriors
After two games on the road, Fuqua is heading back home. Having just played yesterday, they will get right back to it and host the Tidewater Academy Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on February 13th. Fuqua comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
On Monday, Fuqua took a serious blow against Richmond Christian, falling 52-16. While losing is never fun, Fuqua can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 388th, while Richmond Christian is ranked 176th).
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 45-18, which was the final score in Tidewater Academy's tilt against Kenston Forest on Friday. Tidewater Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-6.
Fuqua dropped their record down to 4-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.5 points per game. As for Tidewater Academy, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Fuqua suffered a grim 47-26 defeat to Tidewater Academy in their previous matchup back in January. Will Fuqua have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
