Orting had won seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-0 to make it eight. They walked away with a 35-26 win over the Steilacoom Sentinels. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cardinals also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Orting got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson McCall out in front who rushed for 111 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries. Shiron Seniours also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Orting was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Orting's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Brady Whitaker was especially locked on to Steilacoom's QB and sacked him twice. Whitaker is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Steilacoom fell to 4-1. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for they, who until this contest were averaging 11.8 points allowed.

Steilacoom's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Titus Kaeka, who threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Jaleo Johnson, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one score.
