Football Game Preview: Saint James Saints vs. Brunswick Railroaders

The Saint James Saints will face off against the Brunswick Railroaders at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint James will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

Saint James is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Wyoming Seminary College Prep on Saturday as they made off with a 38-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Saints' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 52nd in Maryland, while the Blue Knights are ranked 290th in Pennsylvania).

Jayden Yates continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 102 yards and three TDs, while also throwing for 289 yards and one touchdown. Those 289 passing yards gave him a new career-high. A healthy portion of Yates' aerial production (87 yards to be exact) went to Calvin Moss.

Another reason for the win was Saint James' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Xavier Colbert.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Brunswick, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 25-14 win over Smithsburg on Friday. The Railroaders haven't had any issues with the Leopards recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Brunswick's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Saint James, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
