Two dominant signal callers in Joseph Sensing and Maddox Kirkland are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Logos Knights will face off against the Kendrick Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Logos comes in on four and Kendrick on 16.
Logos is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Kamiah with a sharp 44-18 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by 21 points or more this season.
Logos can attribute much of their success to Honour Mallory, who rushed for 75 yards and two TDs on only eight carries, and Nate Monjure, who picked up 30 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing touchdowns Mallory has posted since back in August.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Logos was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 388 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 155 rushing yards in ten consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Kendrick faced Grace in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tigers claimed a resounding 82-6 win over the Grizzlies. The Tigers are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 11th game they've won by 20+ points this season.
Kendrick's win came from a few key players Logos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cade Silflow, who picked up 159 receiving yards and three scores. Another rusher making a difference was Tanner Clemenhagen, who rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown on only six carries.
Kendrick didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Silflow, Landon Sneve, Ralli Roetcisoender, and Nathan Tweit picked up one apiece.
Logos' record now sits at 10-2. As for Kendrick, their record is now 11-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Logos has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 217.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Kendrick struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 211.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Logos suffered a grim 48-24 defeat to Kendrick in their previous matchup back in October. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Tigers' Orion Stewart, who rushed for 197 yards and three TDs on only eight carries. Now that the Knights know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
