Chequamegon had lost seven games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 3-1 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Butternut Midgets. The Screaming Eagles were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Midgets, so the Screaming Eagles were just returning the favor.
Kaydence McKuen paced Chequamegon's offense, picking up seven kills. McKuen got some help from Jalen Brunell and her 14 assists.
As for Butternut, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 3-1 Prentice (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75% over those games).
Butternut's loss came despite strong showings from Lizzie Pritzl and Alli Lueloff. Pritzl had three digs and two aces, while Lueloff had four digs and three aces.
Chequamegon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Prentice on the 26th. As for Butternut, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Gresham Community on the 26th.
