Recap: Chicago Mathematics & Science vs. Southland College Prep
After a string of four wins, Chicago Mathematics & Science's's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 57-47 to Southland College Prep.
Several Chicago Mathematics & Science players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Casey Fleming, who scored 15 points along with three steals. The match was Fleming's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Hughes-Bey, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Chicago Mathematics & Science's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Southland College Prep, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4.
Chicago Mathematics & Science won't have much time to rest: their next game is against UIC College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully UIC College Prep focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Wednesday. Southland College Prep won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Chicago Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Chicago Military Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Southland College Prep likes a good challenge.
