Lake Country Lutheran won against University School of Milwaukee last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Lightning put the hurt on the Deerfield Demons with a sharp 9-3 win. Considering the Lightning have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian Johann was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jackson Menzel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Lake Country Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Deerfield, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-12.

Coming up, Lake Country Lutheran will challenge Luther Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Phoenix will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Lightning surely won't give up without a fight. As for Deerfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Williams Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
