Baseball Recap: Gillespie Takes a Loss

Gillespie suffered their biggest loss since April 18th on Thursday. They came up short against the Pawnee Indians, falling 13-1. The Miners were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Jack Kaylor was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season.

Gillespie's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Pawnee, they pushed their record up to 19-12 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Gillespie will be playing in front of their home fans against Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pawnee, they will challenge Springfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
