Baseball Recap: Big Sandy Comes Up Short

Big Sandy extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-5. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Fruitvale Bobcats. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2025.

Big Sandy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Richardson, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for Fruitvale, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.

On Fruitvale's side, KYLER BARNHART was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave BARNHART a new career-high.

While Big Sandy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
