Basketball Recap: South Cobb Comes Up Short

South Cobb lost against Harrison back in February of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The South Cobb Eagles took a 33-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harrison Hoyas. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 318th, while the Hoyas are ranked 48th).

Despite the loss, South Cobb saw an underclassman step up: freshman Stephanie Aguirre posted ten points. Kimora Starling was another key player, putting up six points.

South Cobb dropped their record down to 3-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Harrison, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Cobb will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hillgrove at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Harrison, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cambridge at 11:30 a.m. on December 27th.
