Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Find Success

If Holly Hill Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Faith Christian, they should've done a better job of containing Elijah Brown. The Faith Christian Knights snuck past the Holly Hill Academy Raiders with a 74-70 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Brown, who went 8 for 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played.

Despite the loss, Holly Hill Academy still got an impressive performance from Jody Gillam, who went 15 of 30 on his way to 40 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. That was a full 57.1% of Holly Hill Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Siau, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points.

Faith Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Holly Hill Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Faith Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-49 loss against Florence Christian on the 30th. As for Holly Hill Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 57-43 defeat against Jefferson Davis Academy on the 30th.
