Softball Game Preview: Alleman Pioneers vs. Orion Chargers

The Alleman Pioneers will head out to challenge the Orion Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Alleman didn't have quite enough to beat Riverdale and fell 4-3. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost four in a row.

Sydnee Ganahl spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Alleman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Humphrey, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Orion was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They came up short against Knoxville, falling 22-0.

Alleman now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Orion, they dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Alleman might still be hurting after the 12-5 loss they got from Orion when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can Alleman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
