Seton Catholic Central dropped down to 12-7 on Saturday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell 65-53 to the Northeastern Clinton Cougars. The matchup was a 28-28 toss-up at halftime, but the Knights couldn't quite close it out.

Despite the loss, Seton Catholic Central still got an impressive performance from Michael Mannix, who posted 28 points and five boards. That was a full 52.8% of the Knights' points, marking the ninth time in a row Mannix has earned more than a third of the team's points. Paxton Mannix was another key player, putting up eight points.

Northeastern Clinton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-18. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Northeastern Clinton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Seth Rabideau, who had 18 points. Rabideau's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Otis Reed, who put up 13 points.

Looking ahead, Seton Catholic Central will host Keene Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense better be ready for this one: the Beavers have averaged an impressive 60.1 points per game this season. Northeastern Clinton has already played their next game (against Northern Adirondack), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
